I'm writing on behalf of the Anglican Schools of Belize to express our warmest thanks for the fantastic donation of school supplies which you sent us. Words cannot explain how much good all these marvellous things will do. I would particularly like to acknowledge the hard physical work and effort which putting this shipment together entailed.
As you know, many of our children live lives which are circumscribed and limited. Their homes are often very poor, so it is especially important that our schools are rich environments with lots of stimulation. Books, games and toys open an exciting world for our children; I wish you could see how they fall on them with such joy and pleasure!
The support materials for teachers are wonderfully useful, supplies like pencils, exercise books and art materials ease our school budgets greatly. I must mention the two church organs, which are destined for Christ the Good Shepherd church in Lord's Bank, and Christ the King, Dangriga.) What a wonderful gift of music!
I would love to list every single item and thank everyone personally for each of them, but time and space forbid, of course. Just to say that everything which you all sent is very greatly appreciated and will be put to the best possible use.
I know that Bishop Philip Wright, our Director of Education Mrs Marlene Leslie, our Principals, Teachers, Children and Parents join me in send a huge “Thank you” to our friends in the UK.
Sue Harris
Resource and Development Director (Voluntary)
