This year I've once again been to Colmore Junior School, in Kings Heath Birmingham, whose link with St Hilda's Anglican School, Georgeville, in the Cayo District of Belize, is described under 'About' on this website (use the link button).
When I got there, Mrs Gina Cottrell, Year Four Team Leader, had already taken the reluctant decision that, as rain threatened, activities should be moved indoors. In the School Hall, Year Four pupils had assembled a variety of garden fete-type activities: ‘how many sweets in the bottle?’, bowling a teacher out at cricket, throwing the beanbag, face-painting and of course a sale of home-made cakes. It was noisy of course, but well-organised, enjoyable and no doubt profitable as well. ‘Belize Day’ looked well on course to raise the £400 Colmore sends each year to support St. Hilda’s Feeding Programme.
