Bishop Philip writes:

We had a wonderful day of worship and fellowship at our Diocesan Service at the cathedral on Sunday March 6th. Members and friends from all over the country converged on the Cathedral as the 'mother church' welcomed her children.

It was a moving service that saw the wonderful singing of the combined choir, the Garifuna drummers and dancers, the participation of several ethnic groups, and many others.

As we celebrate the Year of the Family both in the diocese and the province, it was fitting that we met as a diocesan family to give God the glory and praise due His Name. We hope to do this sort of combined service at least three times a year at significant moments in the annual life of the diocese with the intention of fostering greater community spirit.

May I also take this opportunity to give you an early notice that next year July 20th, the Cathedral will be celebrating the 200th anniversary of the laying of its corner stone. We aim to have a massive celebration to mark the event. As part of this celebration we hope to purchase a new organ for the Cathedral, restore parts of the interior, and give the Cathedral the exposure she rightly deserves.

We will be calling on you, our faithful partners, to assist us in our endeavors. We look forward to a wonderful celebration.
