The President of the Belize Chuch Association, Mrs Daphne Russell, died peacefully on Thursday November 25th 2010, following a stroke.
Her funeral was held at St. Peter's Church, Cassington, near Oxford, on Thursday December 9th at 2 p.m. The Chair, Vice-Chair and Secretary of the Association were present , as well as other members ofthe Association. All were invited to the reception afterwards at The Chequers Inn, Cassington. Condolences were received from Her Excellency Ms. Kamela Palma, High Commissioner for Belize and from the Rt. Revd. Philip Wright, Bishop of Belize.
Mrs Russell’s husband, Fr. Alban Russell, was Dean of Belize in the late fifties. She herself was very active in support of his ministry. After their return to England she was a keen supporter of the Association and for many years its Secretary. It is only in the last few years that disability prevented her from attending the Festival.
The Association is pleased and grateful to learn that Mrs Russell's estate included a bequest to the work of the Associaton.
Daphne Russell will be in the prayers of all of us.
